Which Disney character would you be and why?

I was about four when Beauty and the Beast first came out on video. I fell in love with Belle and her story of feeling like an outcast and choosing to see the good in Beast. I also insisted on wearing a Belle costume dress every chance I could.

If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Tacos! The beauty of tacos is that you can have them with seafood, steak, chicken, beef, etc. They are incredibly versatile, so if tacos were what I had to eat for the rest of my life, I would have many options.

Have you ever broken a bone? How?

Yes, I have and I remember that day vividly. I started youth soccer at five years old for the “Pleasanton Rage” (you can picture the team banner, can’t you). I stayed in that league until I was seven years old and it was that year when I broke my nose. I was playing goalie and dove for a save...saved it! Then another girl came out of nowhere, while I was still on the ground. She tried to kick the ball out of my arms and kicked my face instead. My step-dad ran onto the field, picked me up like a baby, and carried me to the bench. All eyes were on me. My coach ran over and put out his fist, “You saved it, girl!” I could barely see with tears and blood running down my face. My dad took a practice bib to my face, knelt down staring me straight in the eyes, and said the most terrifying thing: “Lauren, I’m going to put your nose back in place.” He did it so fast, I didn’t have time to answer. I don’t remember the traumatic pain but I do remember making an awesome save that secured our win for the game. After that, I decided I wasn’t meant to be a goalie - I wanted to be the one scoring the goals. I went on to play competitively in high school and college. I credit soccer with shaping me into the person I am today.

What is your go-to karaoke song?

My go-to karaoke song is The Kill by 30 Seconds to Mars. My mom and I would sing this song at the top of our lungs on long car rides to tournaments to pump me up. There might even be a YouTube video of me that exists that was once the talk of our small town. I hardly get embarrassed, so feel free to find it under “Lauren Killin It.” You. Are. Welcome.
